The Gibson County Veterans Service Office exists for one purpose only.... to serve those Gibson County residents who selflessly gave of themselves in defense of our great nation.  Your service officer is completely committed to doing whatever is necessary to assist you.  Examples include, but are not limited to:

     - Explaination of and filing assistance with federal and state veteran benefits

     - Assistance with survivor benefits

     - Application and enrollment for VA health care

     - Transportation to/from VA (and VA-directed) medical appointments

If you have never done so, stop by the Service office located in the North Courthouse Annex and let's talk.  I would love to hear your story.

Ever Heard of Rolling Thunder ?

logo2.png          pow mia.png

Let's begin by dispelling a myth... Rolling Thunder is not a motorcycle club.

RT Mission StatementThe major function of Rolling Thunder®, Inc. is to publicize the POW-MIA issue: to educate the public that many American Prisoners of War were left behind after all previous wars and to help correct the past and to protect the future veterans from being left behind should they become Prisoners of War/Missing in Action. We are also committed to helping American Veterans from all wars.

Note that there was no discussion about motorcycles or even being a military veteran for that matter.  Rolling Thunder enthusiastically welcomes any person with a passion for veterans and for publicizing the POW/MIA issue.  If this describes you, consider joining this worthy effort.  Contact your Service Office or visit... http://www.rollingthunderin6.com/  for more information.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED !!!

Your Service Office is seeking volunteers who would be willing to drive veterans to VA medical appointments using a DAV-furnished vehicle.  If you are in generally good health, have a clean driving record, and desire to serve our veterans who selflessly served us, please contact the Service Office for information.  Your time, no matter how limited, would be of great value.

About the Indiana Department of Veterans' Affairs     logo_iot.png

Since its establishment in 1945, the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) has remained focused on aiding and assisting "Hoosier" veterans, and qualified family members or survivors, who are eligible for benefits or advantages provided by Indiana and the U.S. government.

Indiana owes a great debt to its veterans, past and present, for their personal sacrifices and dedicated service. 75 Hoosiers (2 still living) have been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in testimony to their courage and sacrifices.

Today, Indiana is home to nearly 550,000 veterans. 52,000 veterans and survivors collect disability compensation or pension payments. There is no greater honor than to serve those who have given so much.
